Wow, 1 month with no updates. Granted not much has been happening around here. We're currently in the process of switching over to our fall assortment. Featuring the Woodpeckers, Space Age, Roma, Raisa, Sunshine, Cream Zembla, Motown & Marabou. Of course our other varieties will still be available, but in smaller quantities.
Next week we will be shipping some Lisianthus again. Blue & White. Sunflowers are still about 2 weeks away, but are looking great. The first Monkshood are flowering, and we will start shipping next week. Roses are currently in full production.

Wow, we've been very busy these last few weeks with everything. The roses are finally getting some length (60cm!) and the sunflowers are in full production. Within the next week we will start harvesting our first lisianthus of the year. We will have both blue + white doubles. Monkshood will be ready next week as well, along with a sampling of our fall assortment of chrysanthemums.
Things at the Agassiz Farmers Market are really picking up now. Thank you for all your purchases there. For next week we will be featuring Lisianthus as well as 5$ bouquets.

Well, the roses are in full swing. They're not up to size yet, but they are beautiful. We have shipped our first to UFG, and will continue to do so for the next week, then expect a dip in numbers. Today is also our second time at the Agassiz Farmers Market which happens every thursday from 4-7PM, we will have most of our product with us included the first sunflowers & crocosmia.

Wow, prices are through the roof. Luckily we have quality & quantity to match. Our shipments are diverse and consistant, hopefully there is something there for everyone.
Our roses are also starting to bloom. They are unbelievably big & fragrant. Unfortunately they are not at length yet. In the next 10 days they should be at least 50cm and ready to pick. Sunflowers will also be ready in two weeks. Because of the cold weather they have grown slowly, but they will be big once they are done.

This week is a very slow week for us flower wise. The highlights this week include the first shipment of our new green buttons.
They were very well received this morning. Look for these to be available every auction from now.

Because of the weather the roses are still behind. We pruned them yesterday and hope to have our first in about 3 weeks.

Our first sunflowers were ready, but they are a disaster. Anyone else have problems with theirs?

We've had our first sale through the website this week. Marcy from Floral Supply Vancouver ordered 2 pails through our site. We encourage anyone who wants to order to just shoot us an e-mail, no matter how small the order. We really appreciate everyones business.
Another note comes from Trudie from Limbert Farms who wrote:
"You now have a new record for the longest lasting flowers. The mums (daisys) that I picked up on April 2 have just been composted today. We, and our customers, have enjoyed 6 weeks of their happiness! Thank you so much for providing the freshest and best for our displays and Tea Room."

Monday April 12th will mark the return of our purple daisy 'Kingfisher' after being on hiatus for a few years we decided to bring it back. As you can see in the picture the colour is very dark and vibrant. Kingfisher is one of many new varieties we will be introducing in the coming weeks. Look for previews in our mix.

Today we finished our roses outside. They're planted, irrigation is laid, and bark mulch is spread. In eight weeks we will have our first fragrant freeland roses. Our two varieties are 'Caramel Antike' and 'Lovely Antike'. Also our first sunflowers have been planted, they will also be ready in about 8 weeks. This year also marks the first that we will grow something a little different from our usual sunrich orange. "sunrich orange summer" is a new and improved sunflower.

This week at Dutch Heritage we are still feeling the after effects of steam cleaning out soil. When we started 10 weeks ago we had to create room to steam. We created room by not planting for 3 days. Now, 10 weeks later we are feeling the consequences. Beautiful flowers, but for this week... very few. Next week we should be back into full production.

Today marks the launch of our website. We are happy to announce that our soil disease has been eradicated. Our current flowers are a great improvement over the ones we shipped the last ~15 weeks. We are currently experiencing a little bit of a slow down in production (this is associated with the steaming process we started 10 weeks ago). However, we should be back to normal at the end of next week. We've also contacted a photographer who will come down and catalogue all of our varieties.
So look forward to that in the next few weeks.
